The regenerated catalyst tend to get de-aerated in the regenerated catalyst stand pipe. The longer the stand pipe the greater is the tendency of the catalyst to get de-aerated. This, in turn will affect the delta P across RCSV causing it to behave erratically.
In order fluidise the regenerated catalyst in the RCSP, the lost volume of air has to be made up by injecting aeration air along the length of the RCSP. The rate of aeration air at different heights will depend upon the unit throughput. This will help to maintain a steady delta P across RCSV.......
